We're celebrating your commitment to the Embalming Profession. The New Zealand Embalmers Association is proud to introduce a new way to honour the dedication, professionalism, and long-term contribution of our members:
The NZEA Milestone Service Awards Programme
From 1 May 2026, NZEA will formally recognise members who have reached significant membership milestones – a way to celebrate your commitment to excellence in embalming and your ongoing support of the Association.
Why we’re introducing this programme
For many embalmers, joining NZEA represents more than membership – it’s a commitment to high professional standards, lifelong learning, and care for the families and communities we serve. The Milestone Service Awards Programme has been created to:

Acknowledge your long-standing involvement in the profession

Celebrate your contribution to the industry and to NZEA

Build pride in membership and professional identity

Create a meaningful moment of recognition at our annual Graduation Ceremony.
Your membership matters — these awards are our way of saying thank you.
Who is eligible?
The awards are open to:

Current financial Full Members
-
Life Members
Eligibility is based on your total years of NZEA membership — continuous membership is not required, but you must be currently financial.
Members who are non-financial or currently under disciplinary review are not eligible until their status is restored.
How milestones work
Awards will be presented at the following intervals:

5 Years
-
10 Years
-
15 Years
-
20 Years
-
25 Years
-
30 Years
-
35 Years
-
40 Years (and every 5 years after)
Each milestone is recognised with an NZEA Milestone Certificate.
When are awards presented?
Milestone awards will be formally presented each year at the:
NZEA Graduation Ceremony – first presentations on 7 November 2026.
This creates a special moment of recognition in front of peers, new graduates, and the wider profession.
If you cannot attend, your certificate will be sent to you.
Can past Milestones be recognised?
Yes — if you've already achieved a milestone before the programme begins, you can still apply.
Please note: Retrospective awards will not be presented at Graduation. They will instead be sent privately to the member.

The Milestone Service Awards Programme is designed to honour your contribution to the embalming profession and to acknowledge the years you’ve invested in your craft, your community, and the Association.
Whether you've been with NZEA for 10 years or 40, your dedication deserves recognition.
How to apply
Because older NZEA records vary, members will need to submit a short application along with proof of membership. Acceptable documentation includes:

Membership certificates

Copies of NZEA membership receipts

NZEA correspondence confirming membership
Each milestone is recognised with an NZEA Milestone Certificate.
